The first time I was almost killed due to Ford's negligence was while I was working in the building at Ford's Dearborn Proving Grounds containing the hi-g sled. A cylinder containing gas used to inflate airbags at a pressure of 3000 psi, flew off the hi-g sled during a test. It flew through the restraining wall, went across the open test area, and embedded itself in a wall. I had just walked from the area only seconds before, and was about 20 or thirty feet away.
I hated when they shot off live pigs at 6 am on the hi-g sled, and would not eat meat for a while after that. It still affects me to this day.
The second time was when I saw a truck bearing down on me as the motor of the brand new Thunderbird I had purchased, sputtered into an intersection, and died. I thought I would too. There was barely enough momentum to carry me across the street, but since the motor faltered, I almost went into the canal at the corner of my block, due to the power brakes losing power assist.
